Mintful Terms of Use
These terms are an agreement between you and ProTech Software Labs FZ-LLC, a free-zone company registered in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates (F0B50597 Compass Building, Al Shohada Road, Al Hamra Industrial Zone, Ras Al Khaimah, UAE) ("Mintful", "we"). By creating an account or using the Mintful iOS app, you accept them. If you obtained the app through Apple's App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies; where the two conflict, these terms govern to the extent permitted.
1. The service
Mintful helps you understand your nutrition: photo-based meal analysis, manual meal descriptions, nutrition estimates (calories, macronutrients, micronutrients), trends and insights, optional weekly focus challenges, and Apple Health integration. Features may change as the app evolves; we'll aim to improve, not remove, what you rely on.
2. Not medical advice — please read this one
Mintful provides informational estimates and general nutrition knowledge only. Specifically:
- Everything in Mintful — estimates, insights, challenges, and content — is provided for educational and informational purposes only. It is general information, never a personal recommendation. For advice tailored to your specific goals, health, or diet, consult a registered dietitian, nutritionist, or doctor.
- Nutrition values are produced by AI from photos and text and can be wrong — sometimes substantially. Treat them as helpful approximations, useful for patterns and habits, not as precise measurements.
- Insights connecting nutrients to everyday feelings (tiredness, energy, appetite) describe commonly known general associations. They are not an assessment, diagnosis, or treatment of you or any condition.
- Mintful is not a medical device. Do not use it to manage a medical condition, and do not make medication, treatment, or diagnosis decisions based on it. Always consult a qualified professional for medical or dietary concerns.
- Mintful is a general-wellness tool and is not intended for use in managing eating disorders. If your relationship with food is causing you distress, please seek professional support.
3. Your account
You must be at least 16 to use Mintful. Keep your credentials secure — you're responsible for activity on your account. Provide accurate profile details; targets and estimates are only as good as their inputs. You may delete your account at any time (see the Privacy Policy for data deletion).
4. Subscriptions
Some features require Mintful Pro, an auto-renewing subscription purchased through your Apple ID (monthly or yearly). Payment is charged at confirmation of purchase; subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel anytime in your App Store account settings — deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Prices vary by region and may change; changes apply from your next renewal after notice. Free trials, if offered, convert to a paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial ends. Refunds are handled by Apple under App Store policies.
5. Your content
You keep all rights to your meal photos and descriptions. You grant us a limited license to store and process them solely to provide the service (analysis, history, your photo diary, backups). You can export your data in the app at any time and delete it by deleting your account. Don't upload content that's unlawful or that you don't have the right to use.
6. Acceptable use
Don't misuse the service: no attempts to breach security or others' data, no reverse engineering except where law permits, no automated scraping of our APIs, no use of the AI features to process content unrelated to your own meals, and no reselling of the service.
7. Intellectual property
The app, its design, branding, and software are ours or our licensors' and are protected by law. These terms give you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store rules.
8. Availability and changes
We work to keep Mintful available and accurate, but the service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of estimates, or uninterrupted operation. Third-party services we depend on (Apple, AWS, AI providers) may occasionally affect availability.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or loss of data, profits, or health outcomes, arising from your use of Mintful. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including under mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence.
10. Termination
You can stop using Mintful anytime. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, with notice where practicable. Sections that by their nature should survive (2, 5, 7, 9, 11) survive termination.
11. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates as applied in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ras Al Khaimah — except where the consumer-protection laws of your country of residence grant you non-waivable rights or a local forum.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the app before taking effect. Continuing to use Mintful after changes take effect means you accept them.
